Think about it. The decisions and actions that have shaped our lives… the things we have said “yes” to and the things we have said “no” to were most likely preceded by some kind of conversation with someone – even if it was an internal dialogue with ourselves. Conversation is not simply an activity we do in our life. Conversation shapes our life. It is truly one of the most creative endeavors we engage in as human beings. And, yet, it’s likely that a significant amount of the time we spend in conversational flow is without much thought, intentionality, or skill. Also, much of the suffering we experience in life comes from the conversations that we are not initiating because we fear the process and/or outcome.
