Home Point of View Awareness Practices Conscious Conversations Meaningful Transitions About Chris Contact

Chris is my coach. She has enabled me to be present with myself and others while dealing with a wide range of personal and professional situations. She has shown me that leading an honest life is the only way. Mostly she has shown me that growth is essential to living and painful transitions lead to positive change.

Show up. Be present. Tell the Truth. Let go. I first heard these 4 simple principles over 15 years ago during a training session with transition management expert, William Bridges. I marvel at the continued relevance these few words have had for me over the years and how they have influenced my personal growth and professional development.

I am also intrigued by how these principles, or in many cases the struggle to embody them, have surfaced repeatedly with the hundreds of people I have worked throughout my career as they have been challenged by the natural movement between wanted and unwanted experiences – experiences that we label, in the most basic sense, as good or bad, happy or sad. Regardless of the context of the particular situation facing these wonderful human beings – internal struggles of self-acceptance, life-threatening illness, the impending loss of a loved one, relationship changes, career transitions, management and leadership challenges, organizational crises, it seems these principles could serve as simple touchstones… profound reminders of how to move through these life experiences in a open-hearted, conscious and intentional way.

So, the question that continues to move me is this – what are the possibilities that can help all of us to show up, be present, tell the truth and let go?
